The NEWTON HPC cluster environment is composed of:
• Login unit: 2 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6132 CPU @ 2.60GHz (14 cores), for a total of 28 cores, 256 GB RAM;
• Management unit: 2 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4116 CPU @ 2.10GHz (12 cores), for a total of 24 cores, 256 GB RAM;
• I/O unit: 4 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4116 CPU @ 2.10GHz, 256 GB RAM;
• HPC distributed memory unit: 4 HPE Apollo 2000 Gen10 with 2 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6132 CPU @ 2.60GHz (14 cores), for an amount of 28 cores on each node (total 112 cores), 320 GB RAM;
• HPC shared memory unit: 1 HPE Superdome Flex 8s with 8 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) Platinum 8180 CPU @ 2.50GHz (28 cores), for a total of 224 cores, 6.14 TB RAM;
• Storage unit: 2 SAN HPE MSA 2040, each with 10 x 12TB disks; two RAID6 volumes have been built on one storage array, for a net total of 96 TB;
• Output remote visualization unit: 1 HP Z8 G4 workstation with 2 x Intel(R) Xeon Silver 4110 CPU @2.4 GHz (8 cores), 128 GB RAM, 4 Nvidia Quadro P2000/5GB
• Units interconnection through 10GbE Base T and 10GbE SFP+;
• Operating System used on all the nodes is CentOs 7.5, except the Superdome machine that loads a SLES 12 SP3 OS
